Monocrazy Millenials!

The only two colors in the whole wide world that are perfectly harmonious with one another and are never out of fashion are white and black. The most basic, the most common, and yet the most favorite go-to colors of maximum human beings! We are no exception to the rule and are fans of monochrome. One would think that when you have a wide spectrum of colors to choose from, why go for white or black, but we beg to differ. We love our blues and our peaches and mustards too, but when we need class- white is our favorite pick. When we are in doubt- Black is our pick! Because, honestly, can anything ever go wrong with these colors? This is the generation where the millennials have gone monocrazy, and we certainly need no reason for that! Be it a ‘little black dress’ or a crisp white boyfriend shirt; the white maxi dress for that summer brunch, or your tailored black pants with those pencil heels for your girls’ night out; a black and white ensemble never fails you! There is something reassuring about monochrome, with it being a simple, clean and an ordered way of dressing. A monochrome ensemble will always look smart and with the two colors being at opposite ends of the spectrum, it is impossible for any two other colors to be as dramatic and eye-catching. Here, peruse the best white on black fashion looks from our wardrobe, which are super simple to create, and are bold, sharp and minimalist! Wildflower Hall – Mashobra – Beauty in Wilderness!

“The difference between living and existing is how much wonder you find in the beauty around you.”

Shivani and I decided that we had had enough of our mundane lives, and needed a change, a relaxed change at that! On an impromptu phone call, we settled on the place, booked the tickets and headed out to Mashobra for the long weekend ahead.

We flew down to Chandigarh from our respective places, stayed a night there, but more on that later, and drove down to Shimla the next afternoon. Thanks to the landslides, and the heavy traffic, it took us a little longer than usual to reach our destination, but we made it by late evening, and then began our beautiful, much awaited little vacay!

Wildflower Hall is an Oberoi property, and much true to its brand name, it is a harmonious blend of tradition and contemporary sophistication. Its idyllic setting and its distinctive old world charm makes you forget all your worldly problems and just sink into the world of leisure, soak yourself in the tranquility of your surroundings, and enjoy little things as simple as breathing, or the sound of birds chirping, or that of the winds gushing by!

The property looks like a British palace nestled amidst the Himalayan hills. It proudly boasts of 360 degrees view of the Himalayas. As you enter, you are greeted by the traditionally clad staff, the sweetest and best in the industry, with their beaming smiles, bright eyes and polite demeanor.

The interiors are in sync with all other Oberoi properties and exude class in all ways. The wooden interiors, warm lighting and flowers all around make you feel warm and at home.

We checked in to our room *sigh* and sipped on to some yummy tea and sweets offered to us, before we got on with our tour of the property.

The property had everything you’d look for, a gorgeous bar, a pool room, gorgeous restaurants, gym and the best part, an infinity jacuzzi! You heard it, not an infinity pool, an infinity jacuzzi.

The hospitality of Oberoi is way beyond anything we ever expected, and hence, we could happily live in that hotel for a month and not get bored!

Also, how can one ever get bored if the menu has mouth watering delicacies to offer 😉

We had come to just stay in the resort and enjoy the services the resort provided without having to bother about touring the city. Oberoi service, as we all know it, is unparalleled! We had a bomb of a time, eating the delish food they had to offer, swimming half the day and enjoying the spa, ooh, the spa!

And ooh, we even got to celebrate Independence Day there, with a small ceremony where a woman-born pre-independence-righteously hoisted the flag! It was beautiful, least to say!

Can’t wait to explore more such beautiful places.
Have already prepared our bucket list 😀
